Artist Bio
Shangyu Li is a Creative technologist and Visual artist. Working primarily with node-based tools to explore the creative possibilities of generative systems through audiovisual environments, interactive installations, and algorithmic processes.
He specialises in utilising sensor-driven interaction, projection-mapping workflows, and real-time generative systems to build responsive and immersive environments.
His practice examines the dynamic interplay between human experience, digital systems, and ephemeral phenomena, and his works have been exhibited across Asia and Europe. He has contributed projection mapping and audiovisual design to live performances, including shows at Camden Fringe and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has also collaborated with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), creating the visual design for therapeutic performances.
Drawing from personal narratives, cultural symbolism, and embodied interaction, Shangyu transforms often-overlooked elements into immersive and tangible sensory experiences.
